Jason is the eldest of the three Kuhlman brothers. Known as the redneck of the group Jason (Big Daddy) Kuhlman began playing the
guitar about 5 years ago. In the fall of 2002 Jason moved north to play bass
for Chasin' Steel.
Jason, like the other members of the band, also attended Northern Michigan
University and majored in Aviation Maintenance. He is still
completing his degree. He has a vast knowledge of airplanes
and lawn mowers.
In his spare time Jason enjoys trolling the waters of lake Superior in his
boat for Lake Trout, Steelhead and Salmon. He also joins his brother
Jonah on occasion for a backcountry "wheelin" trip in his Jeep CJ-7 or the
Bronco (when its running).
Jason is currently single and has no children. "Being an Uncle is
enough for me with Wyatt and Adam's girls."
Along with his rock solid bass playing he added a great high harmony which
has rounded out that high lonesome feel to their hard driving unique flavor of BLUEGRASS
MUSIC.
"If you think that Deep Woods Off bug spray smells good on your
lady.....You might be a redneck"
" If a girl chips your tooth with her tongue stud!....You
might be a redneck"
"I'll never make it over that
creek....I'm telling you guys...(splash)...Told you didn't I"
Jason plays a Tacoma Thunderchief acoustic bass with GHS Strings
with a PreSonus Tube
preamp.
